Terms of Service

1. Who we are

CelebClash is operated by Hallingcast AS, a company registered in Norway ("we", "us", "our"). Our registered address is Torpomoen 27, 3579 Torpo, Norway. These terms govern your use of the CelebClash mobile app and the celebclash.com website (together, the "Service").

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, opening a table, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If the country where you live sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services on your own, you must have reached that age instead. If you are under the age required in your country, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.

4. Your account

You can play with a guest account created on your device, or with a registered account.

• Guest accounts are tied to the device. They do not require an email address. If you lose the device or reinstall the app, the account and everything in it may be lost — we cannot recover a guest account for you.
• Registered accounts use an email address and password, or a sign-in provider such as Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

Display names are assigned by the game from a fixed list; you cannot type your own. If an assigned name turns out to be inappropriate, we may change it. Your Player ID, shown under Settings → Account, is what identifies your account when you contact us.

During beta we may remove accounts that have been inactive for an extended period. Where we hold an email address for you, we will give you notice before doing so.

5. Coins, boosters and in-app purchases

Coins, boosters, decks, rooms and other in-game items are virtual items with no monetary value outside the Service. They cannot be transferred between accounts, sold, or exchanged for money. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them within the Service; you do not own them.

In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms. We never receive or store your payment card details. Prices shown in the app include any tax charged by the store for your country.

Refunds. Refund requests are handled by the store you bought from — Apple or Google — under their refund policies. If you are a consumer in the EEA, including Norway, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days. Because virtual items are delivered to your account immediately, you are asked to consent to immediate delivery at the point of purchase and you acknowledge that doing so ends that withdrawal right. Nothing here limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law.

Beta resets. While the Service is in beta we may reset match history and virtual items in order to test and rebalance the game. Items you have paid for will not be removed without being restored or replaced with items of at least equivalent value. Free items — including coins earned in play, daily bonuses, and promotional grants — may be reset without compensation.

If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice in the app and will not sell new virtual items after that notice.

6. Fair play and conduct

CelebClash is played with other people. Do not:

• cheat, exploit bugs, or automate play;
• harass, threaten, or abuse other players;
• use offensive, hateful, or sexually explicit language in questions, guesses, table talk, or display names;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
• use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that break these rules. Where the breach is minor and it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.

7. Content and intellectual property

Decks, cards, biographies, artwork, room scenes, sound, and the app itself are owned by or licensed to Hallingcast AS. You may not copy, extract, or redistribute them.

Celebrity names and biographical facts are used for the purpose of a guessing game. Their use does not imply any endorsement of, or association with, CelebClash by any person featured. If you are featured on a card and want it removed, email us and we will consider the request.

Text you write in the game — questions, guesses, table talk, display names — remains yours. You give us a licence to store, display, and transmit it as needed to run the Service.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account. Deleting your account ends these terms between us, removes your personal data from the game database as described in the Privacy Policy, and forfeits any unused virtual items. Deletion does not entitle you to a refund of purchases already made. If you no longer have the app installed, see celebclash.com/delete-account for how to request deletion by email.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, or if we are required to do so by law.

9. Beta status and changes to the Service

The Service is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed while we test. We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service, and we will try to give notice of significant changes in the app.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of virtual items, or downtime. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us through in-app purchases in the twelve months before the event, and (b) NOK 1,000.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Norwegian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law.

11. App Store and Google Play

These terms are between you and Hallingcast AS only. Apple and Google are not parties to them.

Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the Service. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service develops. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are subject to the ordinary courts of Norway, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

If you are a consumer in Norway, you may also bring a complaint to Forbrukertilsynet (the Norwegian Consumer Authority). Consumers in the EU may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
